Visitor Centre Autumn and Winter Tickets

We are delighted to offer our visitors two exciting admission options this autumn and winter. We are now running guided tours, alongside our general admission sessions that we have done in the summer period. Both visiting options will run on a variety of days in both the morning and afternoons, so please read the days and dates carefully before booking.

Both options require tickets to be purchased before arrival, to allow us to safely manage our capacity numbers.

Option 1: General Admission

During these sessions, our visitors will be welcome to wander around our Visitor Centre as many times as they’d like, following our Covid-19 compliant one-way system. We have sessions in the mornings (10.00-12:30) and afternoon (13:30-16:00). Last entry is 1 hour before the end of the slot. These sessions are suitable for all ages and are free to under 3s and Tiggywinkles’ members. Tickets are available to pre-book at £4 per person, regardless of age (under 3s and members are free of charge).

Option 2: Guided Tour

These 2-hour guided tours will be carried out by one of our experienced members of staff, whereby groups of up to 12 people can view some of our permanent patients in their near-natural enclosures and learn about our life-saving work. You will be able to take advantage of the trained guide's knowledge and see a few areas that only meet the current social distancing guidelines if you have a staff member escorting you. All tours will be finished with the option of a hot beverage in our undercover café area (drink included in price). Due to the nature of these visits, we would not recommend them for children under the age of 8. All tickets are £10 per head, regardless of age and membership status. Start times 10am or 1:30pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately, we are unable to change the dates or times of bookings. However, if you let us know within 48hrs prior to your booking, we will happily refund the order and you are free to book again on a different date/slot, provided there are spaces.

Refund requests will be accepted via email, provided you give us at least 48 hours notice before your schedules time slot is due to start. Any refund requests made after this period will not be honoured, due to the limits we have had to put on ticket sales in order to ensure we keep staff and visitors safe. Thank you for your understanding on the matter.

Yes please! You do not have to wear one outside but a face mask is required by law in all shops and some of our exhibits, so please do bring a face covering with you.

We are delighted that we can still offer members free entry for general admission, however, you will still need to use the booking system to allow us to safely manage our capacity numbers. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer members free tickets for our guided tours - you will need to purchase a standard ticket at £10.

We have a shop serving snacks and hot & cold drinks. Unfortunately, our covered outdoor seating area will be out of use during general admission slots.

I'm afraid not. We are working hard to achieve a balance of guided tours and general admission slots and we cannot be open every day.

Our guided tours are not suitable for those under the age of 8. However, children are welcome in our slots for general admission. Children over 3 will need a non-member ticket and under 3s go free!

There are areas that are not allowed to be open at this time - the badger viewing, baby bird and mammal viewing, the museum, education room, play area and café will all remain closed until we are instructed that they are safe to open (however, some of these areas will be viewable on our guided tours as we can ensure social distancing). We are pleased to share with you our outside trail, permanent hedgehogs, our bone exhibit and the other British species who are living in our centre including red kites, ravens, foxes and waterfowl to name a few.

We are hopeful that we will be able to remain open, however, if we do go back into lockdown, or the government ask us to close, we will of course issue a refund. In this disappointing event, please contact us via verity@tiggywinkles.org to request a refund or to kindly donate your fee. Please state your booking name, date, time and order number and let us know which option you would like, refund or donate.

Carers

Covid19 - During these difficult times and limited ticketing we ask that you purchase a non-member ticket and then on arrival bring you relevant paperwork and we will refund you on the day.

Carers with the relevant paperwork will not be charged an admission fee.
Any of the following can be shown at the counter:

  1. Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance Award letter (dated within the last 12 months)
  2. Personal Independence Payment letter (dated within the last 12 months)
  3. A current, valid Blue Badge
  4. Letter from GP or consultant (dated within 12 months) confirming the need for a full-time carer. This does not need to be a letter of diagnosis.
  5. Carer ID with photo

Unfortunately, we will not be able to issue tickets without seeing (one of) the above documentation.

Each disabled guest will be able to receive one free carer ticket when providing one of the above forms of documentation.

Facilities

Our shop serves hot & cold drinks all year round. We regret that our outdoor seating areas and toddler play area are currently out of use. There is free parking and limited free coach parking (booking advised).
