Avian Influenza Prevention - Just to confirm Tiggywinkles is still following the government avian influenza prevention zone restrictions. Following these to protect our birds means that most of our resident birds that are not kept in close mesh enclosures have been brought into the main hospital aviaries and therefore cannot be viewed. We also require all visitor to walk / wheel through a footbath to remove any potential avian flu from entering the site. This needs to be done when entering and leaving.
Building Work – many of our regular visitor are aware that we are using this quiet time here in the visitor centre to improve some of our enclosures. Both to benefit the resident and allow better viewing for the visitors. These are well under way which is very exciting but does mean that we are looking a little shabby at the moment!
Entrance Fees – because of the above we aren't currently charging an admission fee.

Please read the 'What's On' section before visiting this winter.
Set in our beautiful gardens in the heart of the Chilterns countryside, Tiggywinkles Visitor Centre is home to some of our permanent animals who cannot be returned to the wild. So a blind hedgehog or 3-legged deer can live here in near-natural conditions, where they can be health-assessed regularly so they can live out the rest of their lives in safety.
The centre also allows visitors to see the work we do first hand and learn about the history of the Hospital, the type of animals we treat and some of the innovative techniques we employ.
We also welcome group visits and are happy to organise tours and talks for all ages, tailored to your group’s needs and interests. If you would like more information or would like to book a tour please click here.
Please Note: If you have purchased tickets through Groupon please print off the voucher and bring with you, thank you!
