Remember Tiggywinkles
in your Will

Making a Will is easy and yet many people die without having made any provision for the distribution of their assets in a properly drafted Will. It makes sense to make a Will - you decide how you want your property to be allocated after your death and can prevent it being taken over by the state. Your solicitor can assist you to make your Will. If you are planning to make a bequest to Tiggywinkles and are using a preprinted Will form available from the stationers then you may like to use the wording below.
Remember that whatever you choose to leave to charity will be tax free.

Wording your bequest
If you would like to remember Tiggywinkles in your Will there are two ways of making a bequest.

A legacy of money:
With inflation a legacy diminishes in value, however, by including the words "index linked" after the stated amount, your legacy is protected from the effects of inflation. The following wording, included in your Will, makes this clear:

"I give absolutely a pecuniary legacy of (words) (£ .......) index-linked to Tiggywinkles, The Wildlife Hospital Trust of Haddenham, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Registered Charity No. 286447, for the general charitable purposes of that Trust and I declare that the receipt of the person appearing to be a proper Officer of the Trust shall be a good discharge to my Trustees".

Whole or part of a residuary estate:
Another way to make a legacy is to leave the whole or part of your residuary eatate to Tiggywinkles. The "residue" is what is left of your estate after payment of any debts, funeral expenses and other legacies. If this is your wish, the following wording in your will would make this clear:

"I leave (the whole) or (percentage) of my residuary estate to Tiggywinkles, The Wildlife Hospital Trust of Haddenham, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Registered Charity No. 286447, for the general charitable purposes of that Trust and I declare that the receipt of the person appearing to be a proper Officer of the Trust shall be a good discharge to my Trustees".
