Tiggys’ Talks
Tiggywinkles Visitor Centre is based on an educational trail, full of information about the work of the Hospital and how you can help care for the wildlife in your own garden. For those groups of people who want more information than can be found walking unaccompanied around our educational trail, we are pleased to offer to groups, an educational talk and slide show.

Tiggywinkles can cater for groups of up to 75 for guided tours. We also aim talks and information to the age and ability of the visiting group. We welcome groups from nursery age right through to senior citizens, including special needs groups.
The tour is based in our Visitor Centre. We start off with an overview about the work of the Hospital, and also the Administration unit. Moving in to the Visitor Centre, we then have a talk about the animals within our gardens, with an opportunity for everyone to see a hedgehogs up close, and covering information on how everyone can make their own gardens more wildlife-friendly.

There are opportunities for everyone to ask questions throughout and after the tour.
After the outside educational talk, we move into the museum building for a slideshow covering some more details of the work of the hospital, showing pictures of some of the other animals the Hospital has treated, and covering other aspects of the Hospital’s work such as fostering tiny babies and rescuing large animal casualties.
Activity Sheets
If required we have activity sheets for school groups, to further enhance the educational experience. There are different levels for different abilities and are provided free of charge to children’s groups, one sheet between two children. You will need to provide your own pencils and clipboards. These sheets will need to be completed within the Visitor Centre, as all the information to ‘answer’ the questions is given around our site.
You may purchase additional educational sheets
at a cost of 20p each.

What to Bring
The majority of the Visitor Centre is outdoors, so warm coats and waterproofs may be needed on cold, wet days.
There is an outdoor coffee shop seating area, as well as an outdoor picnic area, so you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Our coffee shop serves hot and cold drinks and light snacks.
For groups completing our Activity Sheets, please bring pencils and clipboards.
Other than that, please bring your questions, enthusiasm, and a smile!
Shopping
We can make up gift bags in advance so your group can ‘skip the shop’ if you wish!
Gift bags are available in a variety of prices
to suit all budgets, starting from just £1.00.
We are unable to accommodate groups of more than
75 people for a guided tour, however you are
very welcome to come and wander unaccompanied
around our Visitor Centre and Museum.
Parking
Coaches can drop off and collect at the front entrance. We have one coach parking space which can be pre-booked. However, more than one coach would need to drop off and return later for collection. We do suggest drivers wait at the Thame Services which are very close by and offer rest and refreshment facilities, as well as fuel.
Car and Minibus parking is on-site in our own car park. Not sure if a Tour is right for you?
Everyone is welcome in our Visitor Centre for an unaccompanied visit, pre-booking is not required. See our Visitor Centre pages for admission fees and opening times, and more information about what you will find.
For more information or to book a tour,
give us a call in the Visitor Centre on
